The Wireless Access Laboratory focuses on the key elements of the next generation mobile wireless networks: Heterogeneous wireless access and IP-based infrastructure. These fundamental ingredients are required to support the innovative, profitable, value-added services that will constitute a foundation for DOCOMO’s long-term growth. Wireless Access Laboratory researchers are developing novel architectures, protocols, algorithms and standards to establish this foundation. In critical areas we are working with NTT DOCOMO to provide design and analysis expertise, and significant standards leadership. We are also collaborating with leading companies and universities to leverage synergies and multiply our mutual efforts towards these goals.
